Exploring Poetry for Stress Management
With more than 30 years experience working as a psychiatrist Dr. Teresa Kope facilitates this group. She has studied the impact reflective reading can have on stress and anxiety. Exploring Poetry for Stress Management (EPSM) group psychotherapy provides a relaxed and supportive setting for expressing and processing emotions. The group helps create a feeling of community to decrease stress and isolation. Group participants will take turns reading poetry aloud and sharing emotions. No previous experience with poetry is required.
Previously offered in spring/summer 2018, Dr. Kope is currently researching opportunities to partner with a charitable organisation to offer a group to adults dealing with the pressures of mental health and marginalization.
